About Us

Wallmapper.com was started by two San Diego entrepreneurs, Gordon Gus and Thomas Cemo. Each loved to travel and spend time in the great outdoors. But being couped up in a cramped office space for hours with no windows tested their moral. So they looked for a way to open up their interior spaces with decor that reflected both their passions. They began experiementing by hanging various art pieces ranging from classic fine art canvas paintings to pop culture posters to cult favorites like "Dogs Playing Pool". But nothing inspired.

Gus was a collector of postcards with the pictures of cities he's visited. He also loved to fly and get a bird's eye view of the area. He loved a room with a view. So when he didn't have a view, he created one by pinning up various photos and aerial maps of his beloved places. Sometimes his walls and cubes would be covered entirely.

So both decided to create large, artistic images of cities around the world based on satellite photos and hang in their office.

And it was good.

So good, Gus made a satellite map wall decor for his friends and family--based on the city or neighborhood where they lived. Everyone loved it. The posters of their neighborhoods created a simulated "room with a view".

And thus, WallMapper.com was created.
